I am looking for information on Penny Wiggins. From my research she appears to have been born in the 1820's in Northampton County, NC. She possibly lived in Rich Square. She had a daughter named Melvina Wiggins who was born in 1856. I believe she had other daughters by the name of Elizabeth and Ellen.

Melvina Wiggins married Howard Jacobs in 1882

She always maintained she was a free black. Any information on her would be appreciated. She is my great great grandmother.
