1850 Census for Cabarrus County, N.C.

57 Black and about 65 Mulatto

All of but two among the Black people are listed as Reid, the two remaining are Clarey surnames

Among the 65 Mulatoes are Joel House, Shinn, Wascher, White, Rowan Revels, and about 31 Reid surnames.

This gives me a very strange feeling about something. These are considered free persons.
