Rapp- Surname

Hi Everyone,

Iam trying to find further information on my paternal maternal great great grand mother. Her name was Clara Rapp. She was born in the 1830's. Most likely she was born in 1834,because she died in 1922. She was lisred as being 88 years of age. I did find her on the 1860 US census. She and some of her kids were listed. In the 1860 US census, she was living in Algiers, Louisiana. I have documentation from the military archives that she was a free woman of color(She illegally married my great great grand pa who was a slave yet she was free in 1856). Later my great great grandpa served in the Civil War for the United states Colored Infantry. She and my great great grand father remarried in 1876 legally.
I am trying to find out who were Clara's parents. Or could I find any information on her on any other record prior to 1860? Clara Rapp also went by the name of Mary Louise. She used Mary louise on all of the military documentation when she was trying to get her deceased husband's pension in the 1880's. Mary Louise Rapp is also the name written down on her marriage certificate in 1876;yet,on census records(1860-1910) she was listed as Clara.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

A Johnson
