Ohio........ FPOC Family Reunions
We had the opportunity to celebrate with the extended families of FPOC's who settled in Southeastern Ohio.
The Lett Settlement Reunion and the Honesty Reunion Picnic were held in Zanesville, Ohio the past weekend, Jul 15-17.
Check the URL below for a newspaper report on the particulars of the Lett Settlement Reunion.
The desecndants of John S. Honesty (1806-1871), a son of Hannah Honesty (1775-????) celebrated their Reunion Saturday afternoon. Hannah and her children are found in the Halifax County, VA FPOC Registers.
Though not a direct descendant of either the Lett's or the Honesty's I have found connections to both. My wife Anita (Harvey) Thomas is a direct descendant of John S. Honesty. And I have collateral Lett connections thru my Adams lines.
These connections demonstrate the wide migration patterns of the early FPOC families in Ohio. My wife's family settled in Southeastern Ohio along the Ohio River (Washington & Athens Counties)across from West Virgina. My families were in Western Ohio (Champaign & Shelby Counties), near the Indiana border.
It was a very enjoyable weekend meeting folks from IN, MI, MD, NY, NJ, CA, VA and Ohio. AND each group brought their own Genealogists
