Howdy folks,
For those who might be interested in reading about the various historical constructions of race - both here in the U.S, and in the Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America, I will be teaching a course on this topic for summer session, and would be happy to share the reading list I'll be using (being developed over the next few months).
Many of the books and articles will cover FPOC - and will include anthropological studies of those people called "tri-racial isolates" (here in the US), Metis in Canada, Lumbees in the Carolinas, Gens de Colour Libre or Free Creoles, Mestizos or Mulattos, Black Caribs, & Garifuna.
Would also welcome any suggestions you may have of studies or articles you have found helpful in your researches.
