Jane Butler, a researcher at the Afro-American Historical Association of Fauquier County came through with crucial information. By pointing me to county marriage records (1854-1880) extracted by Dee Ann Buck, she helped me to find another generation of ancestors. In addition to Uriah Wise and Hannah Strange, I now have Alfred and Eliza Wise and Nelson Strange to add to the names I'm researching. I think some of them might have lived in the counties of Loudoun, Clarke, or Frederick as well as Fauquier County.
