Hi Dot,

Thanks for letting me know more about your ancestors. As I said, you've got me hooked on Adam and Elizabeth. :) I just want to be sure you know that although their surname was METRASH, the census takers often misspelled names so MITRASH and METRAK should not be eliminated because of the way they're spelled. You probably already know this, but just as an example, my paternal grandmother's maiden name was STOTHART, and just as in your family, my uncle and his oldest son have her maiden name as their middle name, so that is the correct spelling. However, in Census and other records her name is variously spelled STOTHERT, STOTHARD, etc.
