Re: Goins from SC
In Response To: Goins from SC ()
Hi Sabrina: 1870 census, South Carolina, Township 10, Fairfield, S.C.
Rachel, age 35, keeps house Daisey, age 15, farm hand William, age 14, farm hand Amanda, age 7 Hester, age 5 There was a GOINS, Reeps(Rapes) who was born in 1749, who enlisted in the 2nd South Carolina Regiment, July 1,1779, Granville County, North Carolina. I assume he was an FPOC at his time of enlistment. He may qualify as a Revolutionary War Soldier. You may know that there were several Going, Gowin and Gowens, as soldiers in the Revolutionary War. Edward Going, Bute County, N. Carolina
As you know there are several spellings for this name.
