Narrative of Aunt Polly Breeding, KY
Could someone please direct me to a link where I can find the original version of the 1936 WPA narrative of "Aunt Polly Breeding"? A version appears at the link below, but it appears to be an edited, even paraphrased version. I can't find it at the Library of Congress, probably because the heart of the WPA project was slave narratives, and Polly was always a freewoman. She was born in slavery, though, 1849. That's why the WPA project interviewed her. The interview took place in Metcalfe Co. KY. Many thanks!
