My ggrandfather ANTHONY CLARK was a free person of color in 1838 living in Ohio. He married a HENERETTA VAUGHAN in 1839 in Ohio. Both of them was from Virginia, but I never was able to find out where in Virginia they were from. On Theodore Clark death certificate ( that is Anthony Clark son ) it said that his parents were from Richmond Va.,but I have not been able to verify it. In the book FREE NEGRO IN AMERICAN 1830, here is what I found in Henrico County Va.

RICHARD VAUGHAN ( 36-55 ) 6 IN THE HOUSEHOLD
sALLY CLARK ( 36- 55 ) 4 IN THE HOUSEHOLD

Anthony Clarks mother name was Sally Clark, could this Sally Clark in Henrico County be his mother and could Richard Vaughan be the father of Heneretta. If Richard and Sally was listed in the 1830 census, wouldn't they be listed in the 1820 census. How can I find out more about these two people.
