Thanks for helping me to sort it out ~ I have searched the census records from 1810 ( where I found Dinah Manns as a free women in Ann Arundel ) and other names that could be related in Baltimore.

However, when I follow their families in later years I come to a dead end and can't really connect them to my Samual WC.

Most of my surnames have naming patterns and Samuel WC really made an effort to stick that WC into census records and that is what my grandfather called him too.

I may be way off base and I will keep searching ~I'll find that puzzle piece one day.
