Hello:
Recently, I came upon a manumission for James Butler, dated 1806, once a slave of the Hughes family from Greene Co., PA. This transcript was placed online by Bill Davidson, an active researcher with Marlene Bransom for this area. My great aunt Beulah Cox married a James Butler, born in that county, had two children, and the entire family is buried in Washington Cemetery, PA. Because of the common name, so far, my search for data on the Butler family is narrow, but I still have a few sources to check-out.
I'm sharing this information with younse under my "new" position of adopting the "Art Thomas lines of thought," to let you know what I have. Hopefully, this will be of help to others in addition to myself.
