I am a descendant of Reverend Benjamin Doggett and I found your post very interesting. I am trying to put together a family history of the Doggett family in Virginia and saw the information regarding Reverend Doggett's permission to have Indians on an independent web site, on his Plantation with the stipulation that he be responsible for his "natives", which I found appalling.

Can you give me additional information regarding the American Indians he had in his servitude on his plantation? Were there children born relating to Reverend Doggett possibly being the father and what their names and their migration?

My father's mother was a Doggett and was dark haired and of olive completion so I am curious to see if any of his possible children not listed in the public forum could have stayed in the Virginia area.
