Barber Family

I'm seeking information about Sherwood Barber Family who was listed as free person of color in the 1840&1850 census in Davidson County,Tennessee there were not listed in the 1830 census.I've been tracing them for sometime now there were listed as mulattoes in these censuses with property and sometime relocated to Chatham,Ontario,Canada before the Civil War.Sherwood Barber was born in Virginia 1805-1806 and he died in Kent,Ontario,Canada January 24,1877.I'm a newbie about free persons of color because the majority of my ancestors so far I researched were enslaved. If anyone can assisted me I will appreciated the assistance! Thank You!
