I have been busy the past six months researching Maryland and Delaware colonial and early state records and have added about 130 pages to the previous 300 pages of family histories. My count of mixed-raced children born to white women by slaves totals over 500 for Maryland and Delaware, so it is obvious that they formed the overwhelming majority of people of color who were free there during the colonial period--something we have erased from our history.
