Art wrote "In the research of famliy history I have collected a "freedom registration paper" for a 3rd great great-grandfather which was filed in Chamapign County, Ohio following his manumission from slavery in Kentucky, 1813."

Art, can you tell me in what area of the court your ancestor filed his freedom registration paper? I have an ancestor that by 1850 and beyond passed as white (at least to the census taker) in Muskingum County but was listed as "col'd" there in 1840. Abraham Adams had gone to Muskingum County by about 1834 according to a land record at the Bureau of Land Managment. Abraham was a member of my Adams family from Greene County PA.
