In Response To: Re: GOINGS, aka LUCAS ()

I don't know whether there's a connection between the Arrington family which I'm not actively researching and the Lucas or Goings. However, if so, it wouldn't surprise me since all three groups have roots in Virginia. For the Arrington family, you may want to look to Madison County, VA. Another plus is the web site managed by Manual Arrington:, which is excellent.

With regard to a potential link based on the previous message I wrote: this is all I have regarding the Goings. To my knowledge the experts on this family are: Robert Goins, see his messages and Robert Lett. Perhaps there are others. My thought was to let those researching the Goings be aware of the double identify included in Loudoun County's records.

Your input has now made me aware that I need to look for potential links to the Arrington and Goins somewhere down the line.

I can tell you for a fact, there's plenty of people named "John Lucas" with various spellings from Loudoun County that moved to Venango County in PA and Belmont County in OH. Between those called "John" or "Johnathan" it is a immense problem identifying each one. It would be great to touch base with each other frequently.
