I am searching for informatin about an ancestor who lived in Mecklenberg County, VA. He was born about 1803 in Manchuria, China and died in VA in 1877. His English name, given to him by his employer was Tom Cooper. He is listed in the 1870 Census as mulatto and his wife's name was Panthea. Any help that anyone might offer to help us find his Chinese name or any other information about his background would be appreciated.
