Re: AncestrybyDNA 2.5 Results
In Response To: AncestrybyDNA 2.5 Results ()
My mtDNA results came back L3. My ABDNA 2.5 was 78% sub-saharan and 22% European. I too expected an American Indian result as opposed to European. My family has obituaries stating Indian blood relationships and activities. I too believe in oral history. However, I don’t have full belief in DNA databases. We should keep mind the results are based on what is in the database we query. If a Chickasaw Indian is not in the database we won’t find those results. It’s the same with any type of test dna, drugs, flu, etc. You can’t test for something you don’t already have a sample of. We need more people to test the dna, we need more people to share mutations and family history. We need answers to questions like if there is recent versus distant admixture. Unfortunately our world is one where I understand why we don’t freely give such information. Mia
