Utoy Cemetery vote on National Register status

Re: Voting on National Register status taking place June 10th, 2011
in Atlanta, Georgia for historic Utoy Cemetery Inc. located in SW Georgia near Fort McPherson.

For those interested in historic preservation in the Campbellton Rd.
Area of SW Atlanta keep the date June 10th open on your calender.

The Utoy Cemetery is amongst properties for nomination at the National Registration Board Historic Preservation Division Meeting. The presentations will take place at 254
Washington St. SW; Ground Floor Level Atlanta, GA 30334 (404-656-2840) from 9am-2:15pm on June 10th, 2011.

The Utoy Cemetery Association is responsible for recommending the Cemetery to the Board for nomination to the National Register of Historic sites. The Cemetery has military and medical importance. Graves of African-Americans buried before and after the Abolition of Slavery are an aid to genealogical studies in Fulton County, the United States and globally. The Cemetery is also a source of demographic information reflecting the growth of historic and modern Atlanta.

Support the Utoy Cemetery Association Inc. in efforts to preserve historic SW Atlanta.

For those wishing to attend the June 10th meeting contact Vivian Pugh at 404-651-5177.

Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
