I have made research in the phone directory in GUADELOUPE to find members of the CARTY family.
There are 52 people named CARTY. Most of them live in SAINT MARTIN /SINT MAARTEN island.
The other ones in the island of GUADELOUPE ,the part called BASSE TERRE.
I called one of them but she is young and does not know her family history.

I will try to find older people so to help you.

I need help too to find my great uncle called PITOLIN or TRANTENEAU.
He left GUADELOUPE to be a sailor around 1920, settled in an english speaking island where he had a child or children. Daughters, I think because nobody used this name now.
