I too am researching Putnam County, GA. Not the easiest thing I have done. One of my grand uncles married a SPIVEY. I believe the name was Mealy or Minnie. This was back in the 1880s, I believe. My ancestor was Howell Cobb BURT.

Do either of you have info on the BIRT/BURT/BURKE family in Putnam County? My brother and I are the last remaining descendants in this family, so it makes it quite difficult to research. I do however have some info.
