Today I received a copy of the Deed of Conveyance to William and Naomi Gibbs from the heirs of the sellers. The Gibbs, paid $1806.00 for this property in June 1939. Now by all standards that was a large amount of money. I guess you had to be in the right place at the right time because the TONEY heirs were selling this plat of property to pay off debts. Willie and Naomi kept this property for more than 53 years.
I would love to see exactly where it is located, what it looks like today and 'JUST WALK' the entire acreage. My people owned some land.

I have sent info forward to the buyers, a church, with information about the 1st known Ancestor leading up to Naomi Vance, and asked that the information be circulated in order to find 'cousin's'. I've done this before with other surnames for other family I confirmed by documents a connection to. Naomi was also an Eastern Star member. (I don't know what to to to connect with them. I would appreciate any advice.) Sometimes it works, sometimes I think it floats around and gets left on someones desk. But at least someone knows, there's a family member out there who just wants to know family. I personally don't feel comfortable about making phone calls to strangers. They may feel it's a bill collector or somebody crazy. So snail mail is my way and I provide my phone number.
