Thanks so much for that! I do have a death cert for Ralph DIXON. This record indicates that he was born Dec 25, 1902, and died March 20, 1970. His wife and informant is Johnnie B. DIXON. and his parents are named as Harry DIXON and Annie. Also, I have a death cert for Susie VEAL. She was 80 years old when she died in May of 1934. Her parents seem to be Arlivary GLENN and Cindy WARTHERN/(WALKER???). The informant is her daughter Minnie HAMPTON. My guess has been that Susie VEAL was widow of Rev. James VEAL, who signed my great-grandparents Rosa DIXON and Walter PEELER's marriage certificate. I believe that they attended Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, where Puss VEAL and a few of the PEELERS were written to be among the founding membership. Mt. Sinai burned last year at the hands of arsonists. Another death cert that I found for an Annie DIXON lists Ralph as the informant. Annie, widowed died in 1924 at the age of 45 with her father named as Alfred WARTHERN. Here are 2 marriages that may explain Annie:
This is an interesting union: Dixon, Idora to Samuel Reeves 14 Feb 1884, now that you mentioned the name thing. These two would be married at about the time I suspect that my Rosa was born. This may be the marriage for the Susan DIXON you mentioned: Dickson, Susan to London Warthen 24 Oct 1879. Could Susan--not Cindy have been Ralph, Harry's and Rosa's mother? And then there is this: Dickson, Susan to Wm. Harley Walker 4 Jul 1885. Could this be the same Susan, on her second marriage? Can you make a connection in this? And if so, How can I link my Rosa to any of this? Also, where are the Izora and Amos that you see? Are they in the same household? Thanks so much!
