The book, 'Feast of All Saints', is certainly a formidable tome. I'm almost finished with it (Marcel is at Sans Souce, cooling his heals).

For some reason I couldn't simply set and read this one. My apologies for not getting the 'discuss' going.

Family, this book is DEEP! There's so much going on and it's all subtle small stuff - that adds up to this sweeping malaise that was the 'gens de colour' in 18th century Louisiana.

I'm not sure that I understand it all; and that's why I'm anxious for the discussion.

[In the meantime, I'm scooping up all the stuff on Zora Neale Hurston I can.]
