I went to africanancestry.com and ordered the test. They had promised to compare the results of my test to a data base that would tell me where people with my ancestry are living today.

I got results that indicate I am an exact match with the Mende who live in Sierra Leone.

I could have tested for both mother and father, but because the results for my mother (mitochondrial DNA)would impact more of my living relatives, I only tested for that side. I do plan to test for matches to my father at a later time.
