Father Meets Daughter After 29 Years
RACINE - After 29 years of waiting, Larry Cark met his daughter for the first time Friday.
"I broke down. I started crying and just said, ‘Thank you Lord,' " said Cark, a 52-year-old retiree from Mount Pleasant, as he described what happened early Friday morning when his daughter, Sonjia Cecil, arrived in Racine after traveling from Fort Smith, Ark. "I've just been on a high since then."
And it's no wonder. For Cark, Friday marked the end of a nearly three decade long search for his daughter, who was kidnapped as a baby by her mother. Since then, Cark and his family have been looking everywhere for Cecil. They finally found her about a year ago on MySpace.
