I have just found out that my hubands gggrandfather was bought off of a train somewhere in Georgia. I have no idea of how to find info on slaves??? His name was Jim Connell. His wife's name was Fannie Harris, one of their children's names was James. Jim's brothers and sisters were Ada, Mary, Pearl, Marshall and Roosevelt. This is all I know. I am trying to find his slave owner/master's name, address, where he came from, birthdate, death date, marriage date, parents, etc. Thank you VERY much!
