Hello:

I am currently researching the Peterson family from Edgefield (Laurens, Newberry) and Sumter counties in South Carolina. My grandmother Emily Peterson and grand-aunts Hattie and Ruby Peterson told me our branch of the Peterson family is from the above counties in South Carolina. They said all SC Petersons are related.

I am not sure if I am related to William Peterson. I am trying to find the parents of Russell, Enoch and Anne Peterson in SC.

I have been searching through NARA archives and came across a William Peterson(74) owned by a Wm, Anderson on a 1860 Slave Schedule in SC.

Do you have information on the names of William's children? I believe the Peterson Plantation may have been either in Edgefield or Sumter counties in SC.

I can trace my Peterson branch to 1857. Maybe we are related. Who are your Peterson relatives?
