Re: Am I Grabbing at Straws?
In Response To: Am I Grabbing at Straws? ()
I came across this forum by chance. I am a white descendant of Constantine Perkins Fitzpatrick via his oldest son, Elam, who moved from Morgan county, GA to to Macon county, AL in 1837 and operated a plantation there with a number (37 0r so) of slaves (he died in 1841 leaving his estate to his wife and daughter). I have been doing research with a descendant of his slaves (we think) and would like to connect. There is access to a list of Constantine's named slaves and their inheritors that I gave to Doll Hargrove's website from his will, in Morgan county, GA. I may have some more info which I'd be happy to share. BTW, all the Fitzpatricks in Bullock, Macon, and other counties were cousins. If you are descended from slaves of Constantine's then you are probably descended from Elam's slaves. He is the only dirrect descendant of Constantine's in AL; tho his other son Zeno owned slaves there for a short time, as he shared ownership of the plantation with Elam for a little while.
