Stokes Co. Specifically Danbury (that's where the forge was located). From what I can decipher, RD hired Anthony from Miller to prepare bundles of forage and bushels of corn in October and November 1856. He received 3 yards of jean material and a length of bedcord. I think Miller must have had a account at Fulton's dry goods store, and Anthony earned $10.00 towards that, plus 49 cents cash. Later, on Easter 1857, Anthony did another day's work for RD, earning him (or more likely Miller) 50 cents on account. In the 1880 census, Antney is listed as married to Eda Miller (b. 1830) and living in Forsyth Co. (formed from Stokes). He is a laborer and she "keeps house". Both they and their parents were born in NC. Hope this helps -- Gordon
