HistoryBuff: Hey Daviss how are you?
Daviss: hello there HistoryBuff, how's it going? I am good
HistoryBuff: It's going. Trying to keep up.
Daviss: I hear ya HistoryBuff..Sometimes that is hard to do but trying is the key lol
HistoryBuff: LOL I always learn a great deal from Bernice's program, but last eve's topic really helped me a great deal with putting together my family reunion genealogy workshop.
Daviss: thats good HistoryBuff..I was in for a while but had to leave
HistoryBuff: Well please be sure to play it back. Dru's interview was excellent.
Daviss: You have a good deal of information though don't you
HistoryBuff: I do and my focus is to get more relatives active in genealogy research including the youth.
Daviss: I was in for about 30 mins or so and enjoyed that portion
HistoryBuff: My objective is make the learning process more interactive.
Daviss: so your relatives are near you?
HistoryBuff: Well the reunion takes place in Matteson, IL a suburb of Chicago.
Daviss: that would really make it worthwhile
HistoryBuff: ...last in week in july. That's the plan.
Daviss: good for you!
HistoryBuff: I think assisting in developing basic research skills would be a wonderful gift for all of the student kinfolks.
Daviss: Will this be your line or your hubbys line that is having the reunion?
HistoryBuff: My line, however, I would love to provide the same thing for my husband's clan.
Daviss: that's nice!
HistoryBuff: That is.
Daviss: Now what about your training for the archives, have you gotten that down?
HistoryBuff: It's always a learning process. I still haven't completed the written training exercise but I'm 80% finished.
Daviss: oh they have a written exercise huh, interesting?
HistoryBuff: I plan on taking 2 laptops, 1 scanner, music, arts/crafts and display materials for side-line consultations. Indeed the written exercises cover military, native american, census, immigration and naturalization topics.
Daviss: with all that wealth of info, I commend you. I am sure the people who come for the tours will be fed good hi there vkn!!
vkn: Howdy howdy howdy How is Daviss

Daviss: I was listening to HistoryBuff's plan to have a mini class on genealogy at her reunion.. That is a great idea
HistoryBuff: As I was telling Daviss, part 2 of my journal involves building confidence in learning the african american civil war history well enough to provide tours. in the museum.
vkn: ahhhhhh very good what is basis for the course
Daviss: You had a couple of display tables also didn't you HB
HistoryBuff: Yes Vkn, I was inspired by Dru last evening. I was already planning the workshop presentation, but the Dru's interview provided some brainstorming for making the workshop interative. Mostly likely one table full.
Daviss: I know she will be thrilled to hear that HistoryBuff
HistoryBuff: The basis is to engage more relatives to begin their individual genealogy research.
vkn: That is super great I know that Dru and Bernice will be pleased to hear
HistoryBuff: Well, I'm truly grateful for the program.
vkn: That is worth a million $$$$$s
Daviss: yep!
HistoryBuff: Thanks for reminding me to provide them the feedback. I was definitely taking notes.
vkn: There is a thread on the GenHist board, History

Daviss: its something isn't it vkn
