keli1: hi, was'nt sure if anyone was showing up since it was a re-run
AYWalton: I know.
keli1: I love this one...but I heard that Lionel is in financial trouble, have you heard that?
AYWalton: there's Mark!
keli1: yes I just told mom that, lol
AYWalton: Volendever Towson what an interesting name.
keli1: I told her that is the guy doing the research on Ambrose
AYWalton: hello there, evpace.
keli1: yes it is, Hi Evpace
evpace: Howdy
keli1: this was a good one, actually in my mind, all of the shows have been good!
AYWalton: that's a major age difference.
evpace: Repeats are good for re-enforcement.
AYWalton: quite true.
keli1: sick on men/males in their laws so glad she left him
evpace: I have a 20 yr age difference in my history.
AYWalton: from two different worlds!
keli1: me too, 22 yrs, my grandparents but not 15 and 50, that is outright rape
AYWalton: age difference of 22 years? not in those days.
evpace: Is this the Mark Lowe of our chat.
AYWalton: yes it is the same guy. howdy khathu.
keli1: yes evpace it is
Khathu: Hello everyone
keli1: hi khathu!
AYWalton: I am anxious to know more about the group his gr. grandfather was in---the Knight of the Wise Men or something like that.
evpace: Does he live in Nashville?
AYWalton: Mark lives in Nashville, yes.
evpace: Mark that is or just a researcher for same?
AYWalton: I also think he works at the Archives. yes, Mark. not sure why they met at the Library, though.
evpace: Thanks Teacher.
AYWalton: lol
Khathu: isn't this a re-run
keli1: He does work at the archives
AYWalton: yes it is a re-run.
Khathu: with Lionel Richie okay
AYWalton: which is probably why the group is small.
Khathu: okay
keli1: I am still trying to obtain information on the Woodmen of the World group, the AA ones
AYWalton: they should digitize that directory.
keli1: oh this is the show that Jordan from UVA is on.
AYWalton: I have noticed that quite often they bring in historians when the presenter is black. interesting, this man is from Brown which is in Providence Rhode Island. Good school.
keli1: but his expertise is Fraternal Org so they flew him in, like they did Jordan and his wife, he said they were treated like royalty
AYWalton: too bad more genealogists of color are not emplyed by the programs. a benvolent organization for sure. that is their handbook!
keli1: so true...AY, just need to stay at it...I believe it will change as we become more VALUED!
evpace: Granny didnt stand a chance.
keli1: is Louis the one who married the 15 yr old and she divorced him, or did I lose track
evpace: Yes.
AYWalton: yes this is still about Louis. hello Nadasue!
keli1: I love the thought processes folks take on this journey Hi Renate
AYWalton: I think they are stretching it a bit calling the Knights Civil Rights activists, but I understand what they mean in terms of self reliance.
Nadasue: Hello everyone! Just got in. Looks like I've missed some good stuff.
AYWalton: how are you Nadasue??
Khathu: I agree AYWalton
AYWalton: this is the re-run of the Lionel Ritchie episode.
Nadasue: Doing well, thanks. You?
AYWalton: which was a good episode, though. fine thanks.
Nadasue: Oh...lol. Silly me. I forgot we'd seen this one before. I just turned on the tv and was thinking, "Oh, the Knights of the Wisemen, again!"
AYWalton: lol I see that there is an electronic version of the handbook on the Knights online through New York Public Library. he was lucky though to have ties to a man with a well documented history. I think this man Louis was also a Civil War soldier, wasn't he?
Nadasue: So true, AYWalton. Something that's really missing in MY family!
keli1: and he was 50 when he married a 15 yr old, yea he is something else
evpace: The treasurer suceeded in destroying a vital organization and its leadership.
keli1: yep, he stole the money!
AYWalton: I wonder if they can tell that is the same man. the treasurer stole the money, not Louis.
keli1: Hi Bernice
bbenn: Hi Everyone! Sorry that I am late.
AYWalton: Remember the historian said that nothing implicated Louis Brown.
Nadasue: Hi Bernice.
keli1: right, the man stole the money and left. Just think the theft's descendents know now
evpace: Louis was still doing right by his members.
AYWalton: that book should be online.
Nadasue: Can you post a link to the one at the NYPL AYWalton ?
AYWalton: I just googled it.
Nadasue: k
AYWalton: can't paste without my regular mouse.
Nadasue: k np
AYWalton: I wonder if they have found the grave since the program aired last year.
keli1: what a wonderful project to clean up and document those in the cemetery
AYWalton: true.
bbenn: Is this an update from last year? I am just tuning into the show...
AYWalton: not an update. a repeat. was just wondering though if anyone has even tried to find it since then. I think it is interesting to follow up on some of the folks in the programs. I did that with Don Cheadle on my Afr.-Native Am site. I ptu up other documents that he did not get on the tv show.
evpace: No but we should promote updates for WDYTYA and FYR. Remember the Oprah episode grave find!
AYWalton: I am trying to remember that.
keli1: Grave find? she had another show on OWN, but not called Grave find, hmmm did JL Brown remarry?
evpace: Keli her roots were done by Gates.
AYWalton: Not known.
bbenn: That's a touching moment! I love hugs:)
AYWalton: that was a mosaic templar's headstone. he could have one.
keli1: well he was the keeper of that cemetery, I believe the records went down on him
Khathu: good night everyone

AYWalton: and don't forget----J.L. was a servant (aka--slave) during the war, becasue he got a pension as a "servant" of a confederate.
Selma: Yes..not a soldier
AYWalton: and would a free man sign up to be a servant (slave) during the war? HA!!
keli1: half brother or father, darn shame,
Selma: I ain't getting teary eyed..
AYWalton: yep!
Selma: Right was his by ownership
AYWalton: I don't think Morgan W carried anything out.
Selma: Me either..
keli1: well Jl's daddy with either Dr. Morgan or the son Morgan W. but Doc took care of Mariah and baby, which should be JL
evpace: GGF looks like him remember the widowers peak on GGF and Lionel has the long face and hair line.

evpace: The pension rolls will tell us.
AYWalton: so you can't convince me that this literate man signed up to serve folks who were shooting at OUR folks. that is his world, keli1. So sad. they had the pension roll. it said servant
