AYWalton: Good afternoon, all.
daviss: what!!! r U kidding me
Selma: Hey the STAR is in the room Hi STAR
AYWalton: Howdy alt, daviss, Ms. Selma.
vkn: There she is AYWebinar !!!!!!!!!!!
daviss: hello AY!!
AYWalton: Greetings, VKN!!!!!!!!!!!! lol You guys are too much!
vkn: lol
daviss: lol
AYWalton: I hope that means that yall liked it!
vkn: {{{{{{{{{ HUGS a plenty }}}}}}}}}}}
daviss: we sure did AY!
AYWalton: thanks so much!! it was much easier than I thought from a technical end--since Geoff from Legacy handled all of that.
vkn: AYW did us all proud
AYWalton: I knew I could not go and shame the family, so I had to "represent".
vkn: lol
Selma: and represent you did..lol
AYWalton: didn't want yall mad at me, so I was motivated to be what the old folks used to say, "a credit to da race"
vkn: not even a slip was showing lol
daviss: hehehehehehehe
Selma: Thanks for starting off by telling folks to "sit down with a piece of paper"..
AYWalton: I had it hiked up with rubber bands, underneath. lol
alt: Hello AYWalton.. Great job!!!!!!!
AYWalton: howdy alt!
vkn: lol lol lol
AYWalton: thank you, and glad you got to hear it, as well.
Selma: Yes, yes, I know all about the Genealogy programs, but I swear just sitting down with a pencil and a pedigree chart would help folks immensely to get the basics in some time frame
vkn: AYW even highlighted her "fren" wid da brokem ankle lol lol
AYWalton: lol
daviss: lol
AYWalton: but did not "out" her completely!
vkn: lol
alt: as daviss said... "you worked it" it was obivious that it was a well thought out & put together piece of work.
Selma: What you said about your other sources and VA RG105 applies..just cause it says OKlamhoma don't mean it is only OK info Use your imagination
vkn: 'deed she worked it
AYWalton: I am sure everyone had images in their head of this poor soul with her foot hiked up, diligently pouring through F Bureau records just for the sake of history, overcoming pain and discomfort for the cause.
Selma: LOL..
AYWalton: thank you all so much.
Selma: That in fact was the actual image the first 2 weeks.. LOL
vkn: ...for the cause
daviss: oops
alt: AYWalton, that was my vision of Selma
Selma: I was thrilled to hear that Family Search has done NC RG 105..can't wait to tell Barnetta
AYWalton: oops.
daviss: wb
AYWalton: my goal was too get folks to think outside of the confinements of their own geographic territory. Just because it says Virginia does not mean it was EXCLUSIVELY Virginia.
vkn: I also liked that you pronounced the contents of RG105 as haveing something for everybody
AYWalton: I think only a tiny fraction of folks have ever truly looked at FB records.
alt: you succeeded..... look for records, not just black records, cause we are in all types of record sets.... a valuable message.
vkn: they will now
daviss: heyy bearnut2
AYWalton: and I hope that others also realized if they have white ancestry, that they might have folks in FB records as well.
vkn: hey bearnut won the jackpot
Selma: Afternoon bearnut2
alt: hello BIg Winner!!!!!
AYWalton: Hello there, bearnut2 congrats on winning the door prize!
Selma: Just about all of the Bureau officials were white Yes congrats bearnut
AYWalton: that would make an interesting article--Whites in the Freedman'
daviss: How many participants AYWalton were online?
Selma: Plus the white folks are in there trying to get their land back..
AYWalton: Whites in the Freedman's Bureau
Selma: Writing to the Bureau for all kinds of stuff.. Destititue white folks getting rations..
AYWalton: When I opened my window after turning it over to Geoff, there were 140 folks in the room.
Selma: All kinds of stuff
bearnut2: Hey everybody!
AYWalton: and whites pledging oaths of allegiance to get back into the US as citizens.
Selma: I have tried to tell some of mywhite researcher friends ove the years..but they don't always get it
bearnut2: Yeah, i was very excited to win that prize! I was just about to purchase the cd! lol
AYWalton: I think that might be a good presentation down the line.
Selma: I will send you some examples AY...
AYWalton: I heard from Geoff and he has asked me if I want to give any more, to send him a list of topics. oh yes, Selma, please do.
alt: I hope you-know-who was one of them AYWalton ... your presentation should have been an eye-opener to him on how little he actaully knows about AA genealogy & research
bearnut2: oohAYWalton that does sound like a good presentation
vkn: yes and grabbing back their no longer abandoned lands
AYWalton: that is precisely what was happening, vkn!
Selma: There is a whole census of the White and colored Census of Accomoc County 1864
AYWalton: oh wow!!! in the FB records, Selma??? that is a MAJOR find!!
bearnut2: wow Selma!
AYWalton: how many pages?
vkn: wow selma
Selma: Yes..I put a link in my original posting..Ihave a white friend whose husbands family is from Accomack she was thrilled.. Gotta go Look
vkn: send a link selma
bearnut2: where are you posting the info, Selma? I'd love to take a look!
AYWalton: and if you have a link, to the page that would be great!
Selma: Let me find.
alt: BTW daviss, nice posting on the football players and their discovery of being brothers.
daviss: I thought it was a great story alt
vkn: It is a beautiful story daviss
daviss: This is such a small world and both football players too
bearnut2: Wow! I'm reading it now...
vkn: Do y'all remember CRosers? Had a call from her in Ghana yesterday where where is studying at the university until December
AYWalton: I kind of remember that name from a long time ago.
daviss: vkn what about that Quarles post, I hope they got something from it
alt: just goes to show there is so much true & factual 'good stuff', that we don't need to fictionalize or embellish our family histories.
AYWalton: vkn, I saw that offer to submit data--was this a result of the webinar?
Selma: Gotta find it later..will post on the Reconstruction and Surnames Forum
vkn: Not sure AYW I am sure we can credit mail over the next several days to webinar. Did have one phone call specofoc to having been at webinar
AYWalton: really? wow that's nice. I will email Geoff to find out more about the audience and where they were from.

AYWalton: daviss when you see that, it means you are not logged in. Once you log in you can see them.
