Re: Implication of Artman's letter to Chad Smith

Yes Okie Native, There is legislation that has been drafted for Congress to hold hearings concerning all of the five slave holding tribes. I am in direct contact with Mr. Bert Hammond who works in Congresswoman Diane Watson's office. He assured me that hearings will be before June 23rd. He is trying to get the hearings in the Judiciary Comittee that is chaired by Mr. John Conyers. He know it stands a good chance to get in that committee because of Mr. Conyers.

The Tribes might have different constitutions, but they all practiced slavery and they all signed the treaty of 1866 that freed the slaves, adopt and make the freedmen citizens. So when this issue reaches Congress all five tribes will be investigated.
