New Leadership On the Horizon.
In the middle of another do nothing meeting of the Freedmen in Tulsa, an articulate man, stood up and introduced him self. He was a towering figure, well dressed and spoke a with authority words of accomplishment telling of what his group had done in contacting the Black Caucus. In all aspects, he showed the qualities of leadership.
The present president has never acknowledged anyone in the audience who are guests. I know of one who has attended one of her meetings. She was completely ignored. I do believe if the President of the United States was a guest, he would never have been introduced nor acknowledged. Even, Mrs. Lucy Allen, who was in attendance, was not even recognized.
Some of the best coaches leave universities because he/she can not produce a winning team. What are the goals of the present Freedmen Organization besides attaining a card which was stripped by a meager vote? Where was the leadership doing this time and the months and weeks before the vote?
Now that, Mr. Verdie Triplett, a leader, had come forth, I have once again have faith in which the Freedmen will achieve their goal of being recognized and an injustice made right for ALL FREEDMEN. I personally will send a donation to the CHOCTAW-CHICKASAW FREEDMEN OF OKLAHOMA where Cherokee Freedmen are welcomed. The donation to the organization will be to help an outstanding leader and his group work for the betterment of All Freedmen. I know my donation will be used for a just cause and not for attorney fees, etc. etc. etc.
