Preston! Are you married already? I'm a sensational cook!
Seriously, thank you so very much. I was beginning to loose faith in the name "Henrietta" because I couldn't find it or her anywhere! Is it common for that time that birth year info is slightly skewed? On Charley Miller's Obituary it gives his birth as 8/28/95 and his Draft Registration cards gives only the year 1900. Even my mom admits hers was two years off.
For the first time ever, WE have a first name for one of Henrietta's husbands, CAD! I've got a few questions I'm hoping you can help me with. These are abbreviations that I've ben seeing and have no idea what they mean:
MU = is that short for Mulatto?
We never knew she'd had that many children. So now I know there are still two other children that we have no name for???
How do you know they were in Indian Territory ca. 1908? I know she was Cheeroke but, as you pointed out, how can I begin to prove this? Even here she was listed as mulatto. Does that mean the emunerator assumed she was a mulatto because she was light complexioned? Did they ever note "Indian" and any tribes for people during that time period? If the entire family knew her as MARY where did the HENRIETTA come from?
Can you confirm for me that her Maiden name was TERRELL? If her mother was from LA then that blows out the window the family of Terrill's I found in FamilySearch for the 1880 Census in Harrison, Tx that list her sister JOSIE and says the father was from GA and the Mother, Lizzie, was from TN? The MARY in that family was born in 1868.
Any tips for me on how to find Henrietta's mother?
Again, bless you!
