I would like to say that one of the functions of this site is to provide educate the genealogists. I am most grateful for the genealogical expertise, opinions and views that all bring to this board and especially Angela,Marilyn,Eli,Preston, Estelusti,Laurel,
John and David Cornsilk, Angry Chickasaw and Esther. You all bring "coloration" to the bare facts. In my opinion while primary sources are of course excellent jumping off points, secondary sources are also excellent resources for they bring with them the "colaration" of the bare facts. Infomation that is much needed for me to make an informed decision. I could easily miss the whole picture by just relying on my own interpretation of dry facts. Imagine reading the factual documents on slavery, or the Civil Rights movement or even the Trail of Tears and not reading the secondary evidence( the emotional plights, views and opinions) of the affected people. Missed most of the picture.
