Re: Burton's
In Response To: Burton's ()

Sarah & Cathy,
I also am a Burton. My Lewis Burton, my gg-grandfather born in Texas moved to Plains Dealing LA (Bossier Parrish), his son was James Wesley Burton,Born 25 Jul 1884-May 1936, in Plains Dealing LA. He migrated to Lafayette AR and married an Emma Featherston. They were my g-grandparents. James & Emma had a daughter, my grandmother Helen Geneva Burton. She is still alive at a grand old age of 93 in the same town I reside.

Little is know about James father. His mother 1st name was Jinnie. On one of James' census, he indicated his mother was from Mexico. Jennie later married a John D. Campbell. Both migrated to Lafayette AR.

James Wesley Burton spent time in Muskogee OK. He died in Arkansas with his daughter Helen. James also had two half brothers, Will Jackson and Sidney Campbell. Any of these names ring a bell?
Thanks
Denise Clarke
