Re: Joseph Aaron/Darlington, S.C.
In Response To: Joseph Aaron/Darlington, S.C. ()

I tried various spellings of Aaron and cannot any find one white AARON in 1870 Darlington County
The HQ census index results show a Prince AARON,White, age 29, Boston Twp, Farmer, but the actual image shows he is Black....

I do see the surname ARRANTS in nextdoor Kershaw....is it possible the name Aaron evolved from this name? There have been many Arrants in Kershaw and Lee Counties pre-1800...the orignal pioneer coming from Maryland.
0 results for AARON in 1860 Darlington County. There are 2 indexed in Barnwell County and 2 indexed in Orangburg County.

Interestingly there was a Prince Aaron, black, age 99 indexed in 1870 Sumter County.
