John "General" Baskerville, Essex Cty NJ 1930

Am trying to tie up some research loose ends and can't find this particular h-o-h or his family of wife and children (there were 13 eventually) in the census of 1930. I currently have this line back into the slave period (thanks to Lloyd and Kim) on the plantation of William Rust Baskerville, descended from slaves Charles and Quintina Baskerville, and am now tracking down the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

They lived in South Orange NJ in 1930. There may be a page missing from the census perhaps - or I'm missing something. Does anyone have a 1930 census that is not I no longer have Heritage Quest.

They are listed in 1910/1920 on ancestry as follows:

Thought perhaps they might have moved out of Jersey - or Essex county - but my aunt (age 94) says she visited them in South Orange quite frequently during the late 20's and 30's, and that one son headed a large black church in Newark in later years.

She said there were very few black families in South Orange at that time - though there were plenty in other parts of Essex county.

Some of the daughters moved to Arizona and died there, I believe one is still living.

Am hoping one day to connect to one of the young New Jersey Baskervilles - I have a lot of data to pass on.
