Re: Need Assistance from Art with Ohio Research
In Response To: Need Assistance from Art with Ohio Research ()
Hello KimW, I saw your post on the Military Forum and read the bio sketch....congrats on your research. A quick glance of the 1900 Census records shows a Nicholas Alexander in Cincinnati, OH. It states he was born Dec 1847 in VA....he is married to an Elizabeth ???? born Nov 1849 in Ohio. They have been married 18 years and have no children. Occupation listed as Barber and they reside on Central Ave. I also looked at other Census years and found 3 AA Nicholas Alexander's to follow. Strangely, one of them (1880) was right here in Springfield, Ohio and is listed with parents Enoch & Caroline, both in their 60's, while Nicholas was listed as a married 27 y/o painter, no wife mentioned. The Genealogy Dept. at the Hamilton County Public Library in Cincinnati, Ohio has some excellent resources and a very knowledgeable staff for assistance to AA researchers. You might try them if you believe the Cincinnati Nicholas is your ancestor. I'll do some research on the Sprigfield Nicholas and get back with you. Hope this helps, Art Thomas
