Re: McWillie's and Walker's connection
In Response To: Re: McWillie's and Walker's connection ()
I believe this may be your William McWillie Sr. He was born 1795 SC. William McWillie's father, Adam, came to America from Ireland. Most of the family was born and lived in Camden, Kershaw Co., SC before moving to MS. Papers on McWillie's plantation, Kirkwood in Madison County, MS, are at the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, Jackson, MS under McWillie-Compton Papers. There is William McWillie Jr., a son by his second wife Catherine Anderson, who is also from Kirkwood Plantation. Adam McWillie, a son by his first wife Nancy Cunnungham, was a captain in the Camden Rifles, 18th MS during the Civil War. I was born in Chicago, IL in the 1930s and grew up there. I have relatives in Kankakee Co., IL. I had to get a death certificate copy a few years ago. The death was at Oak Forest Hospital. I kind of understood what you were experiencing. I have a son, daughter, and grandchildren in northern CA. You can email at edadams0197@aol.com
