Re: Cromwell Bullock born 1820 in Edgecombe, NC

I have no idea if these families are related, but, google a book called "A Remembrance of Eden" by Harriet Bailey Daniel Bullock. The Eden referred to is a plantation in Clark County Arkansas, the only one in the county that I can find any material on, mainly this book. But the Bullock family originated in North Carolina. I can't find my notes right now, but I believe these people (Col. Bullock and others) were originally heading to Texas, came through Clark County, camped to rest, liked what they saw and decided to stay. Additionally, there was bonus land available in Arkansas for people who had served in the War of 1812.

There is a black Bullock family in Clark County whose family history says their family was owned by these Bullocks.

I will be attending a "Bullock-Daniel" family reunion on August 13-14, held in the general area of where that plantation would have been located. The first time I attended, some of the older white Bullocks came too.

I am related to the family through their Daniel side. The Daniel family also has a North Carolina to Tennessee to Arkansas migration history. There was a JONES who was in the group with Col. Bullock and I suspect was my family's slave owner.
