Re: [MEDIA & Such] NO COMMENTS ON THIS WAR ON IRAQ
In Response To: [MEDIA & Such] NO COMMENTS ON THIS WAR ON IRAQ? ()
To publicize cognitive comments in reference to the Iraq war can place you into the arena of the “Un-patriots and/or Anti-Semites” the two issues becoming synonymous these days. You will be trusted into arenas in which you may not be able to survive unless you have taken valuable time from your critical thinking processes to think the most horrible and vile thoughts known to humanity and have an elaborate support system to re-enforce you and I don’t mean the kind of support we just witnessed from Dr. Lenora Fulani on Rev. Sharpton or Harry Belafonte on Colin Powell or even the Ms. Barras recent writings in the Washington Post on Rev. Sharpton and Ms. Moseley-Braun. Pluse, you can have all sorts of crazys come to your web site and be subjected to be scrutinized under the Homland Security Act. This is no stage joke going on here now, folks. This is some very, very serious stuff.
I pose this question; What ordinary citizen has the time and much less the mental strength to mount such an undertaking to address what Joseph asked "..comments on what is going on concerning Bush, Iraq and the situation going on there?" There are some in the AA media who have this strength and know-how but what a tremendous sacrifice they are making. I tip my hat to all of them and if they are a “God bless you” kind of a person, than I say “God Bless You!!”
Back to the Iraq issue, whites just walking in taking whatever Blacks have is not a new issues. The white Anti-War War protestors, like the Quakers in times past could not -I repeat- could not overcome the power of the press. Even the UN can’t do it, the U.S. Congress can’t do it, our beautiful sisters Cynthia McKinney and Barbara Lee couldn’t do it, the Labor Unions in England can not do it, the Mayor of London can not do it and, alas, the Baptist minister who stood on the platform last Saturday at the Anti-War Rally who, to my absolute horror, called Bush ‘An honorable man’ couldn’t do it.
In my opinion, all of the purposeful mis-education of our society is now paying off in spades as it is now and as it has in the past. The under funding of schools, the media creating our thinking mode and the slippery and bias news reports constitutes the whole nine yards which is now paying off in spades. The one thing I will not forgive them for is how they created our modern 20th century Black men via Basketball and Football. So sad. But this is the life we are living in 2003. This, again in my humble and very frustrated opinion, is what it is. The Press’ the thing!! Just another name for Corporate America. We must get control.
