[My Opinion] Dr. Lenora Fulani for President

They didn’t even mention her name. They didn’t even mention Dr. Lenora Fulani’s name.

I recently saw a famous AA columnist and a college professor on a panel show giving viewers the 911 on former Senator Carol Mosley-Braun; specifically, her baggage. There was a comparison between her candidacy and Rev. Sharpton’s candidacy which was mindful to me of the “here we go again” banging the garbage can lids thinking we are making music. Blacks cannot seem to distance themselves from baggage issues, especially those of their Brothers and Sisters. One of the panelists said all of the other candidates had baggage also. Yeah! Right! I’m all ears. If his objective was to give me the 911 on all of the candidates running for the 2004 Presidency, he didn‘t do it. What’cha ‘fraid of, huh?? This is the career you have chosen. Do your job and stop half-steeping, shaving points and banging garbage can lids.

I listened as they postured themselves for their agents to get them speaking engagements as spokespersons on the Mosley-Braun and Sharpton baggage issues.

Former Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm was identified as the first Black woman to run for President of the U.S.A. in 1972. A good teaching moment was missed and or ignored by both of them when they did not mention Dr. Fulani’s run for President in 1988. Dr. Fulani was on the ballot in all 50 states and was the first woman and the first Black woman to do so. I guess her “baggage” is much to heavy and somehow fell off the scales of history. (The things we Blacks have to do nowadays to earn a decent living.)

And finally, there is something tantalizing to me when I read that Donna Brazil got a thank-you note and an invitation to lunch at the White House from Karl Rove. Very curious. The Democrats are going to give us an award winning Dog and Pony show this time, folks. They get better all the time. Their choreographers are the best bar none with lots of help from our AA media panelists. And one, and two, and three, turn one, and two.....

Fighting for the dignity of my Ancestors,
