: The snow in this area did not start until about noon or a little
To All, I remember those days in Chester, Pa. when I was a little girl, we thought the snow was great, trying to go to school with the wind and snow whipping us, wearing those ugly black rubber boots, and walking backwards so the wind wouldn't bruise our faces, arms tucked in the sleeves of our coats, laughing and enjoying every minute of it, not knowing the hazard of driving or trying to get to work. Thought I was out of it, moved to Flagstaff, Az. and it was the same, except no wind and the chill factor not like Pa. In 1967 I believe we had 6 ft. it was Dec. close to Christmas, my husband couldn't get to work, he would shovel snow and turn around and had to shovel to get back to the door. Our food was running low, but we ate better then when we could get to the store. Then there was no state of emergency, I wonder why? Could it be that times were not so fast then, we took things as they came and moved a little slower. Even now here in Las Vegas, if it rains we have more accidents than if it were snow, people are so careless and in a hurry. I now refuse to go to Flagstaff in the winter if it is snowing, I am now afraid of the drivers in a big hurry to get no where. The days back then was a fun time for us. Your post have brought good memories to mind this day. We were poor but we made it.
