Joseph, I agree that youths as well as adults should be made aware of the symptons of diabetes. I, as an adult found out the hard way a few years ago when I had to take my husband to the Emergency Room, when he was so weak he could hardly stand, not being familiar with diabetes, I was thanking God I got him there in time, his blood sugar count was high very high, and he was almost in a diabetic coma. His count is maintained now, he is off insulin, and on pills. We need to teach all about this disease if possible. This is something not to be taken lightly.
