No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

Since this board is the outgrowth of ‘a dream’ growing out of the ideas of members of the Lunch Bunch Chat members, this information gave me my starting point for addressing your question “Why a Discuss Board?” And the associated implications.

Although I am not privy to the rational or the commitments the members made for their creation of the Discuss Forum, I can only suspect the “Invitation to post” stated at the beginning of the Discuss Forum comprises their unified thoughts.

In the invitation, limits were set and standards were clearly spelled out!

There is no doubt in my mind the humanitarian mind-set of the founding group and the love they had for their dream was not both compassionate and sincere.

However, When setting limits and standards it has been my experience most people do not know the energy involved in consummating a project you have endeavored to put certain limits and standards on and especially if it involves decency and good taste.

Enforcing limits and standards could, as the saying goes, test the patients of a Saint as I am sure it has in many cases with the various moderators of this forum.

We must realize that the world has change so much since the Lunch Bunch had a dream and this informational society is in a state of constant flux. And I don’t know it the Lunch Bunch figured on that. How could they have known? At this time, there may be disappointments and perhaps elation amongst them but the basic facts remain; our society has changed since the creation of this forum.

I had jotted down a lot more things to say but as I began to write, it really seems to come down to one thing:

The fate of this Discuss Forum Board is up to the people who will volunteer to monitor it with the limits and standards set forth by the founders or other designated entities.

As always,
