Re: Why A Discuss Board?
In Response To: Why A Discuss Board? ()

Ms. Nelson,
As BB stated, I came to this board, because Joseph and I had gotten off genealogy and into a topic, it was removed here, I laugh about it, and say Joseph got me kicked out, I am glad as I never looked at discussion topics before. Since then I have found many that post that I respect and have helped me to get out of my shell and look into other things, mostly politics, the state of the nation, things of interest to Blacks/Afro-Americans, have even gotten history lessons, and see how others feel or think about something. Even at my age, I am still learning, I can respond by experience only.
I respect the privilege of being able to do this without feeling silly or uneducated. I try not to say things out of order, sometimes it takes me quite awhile to type what I want to say, as not to offend anyone. I do get my dander up when attacked by racial comments, even then try to watch what I post, if continued as it did a few weeks ago, (I still can not forget that one) I strike back.
I enjoy the Discussion Board, and reading the new post, topics. I feel I have found new friends, even though we have never met in person, I respect them and believe they respect me also.
Ms. Nelson, What I want to say is this, I give you, your volunteers and all involved with this boards, the ones that post. A BIG THUMBS UP. Meeting the ones only here have brighten my day. Some might say then my life is boring, No, I am home most of the day, read alot, and this just adds to my day. Peace to All. Barbara
